Why I created Pen Pal Travels
I created Pen Pal Travels to bring a little of that curiosity into everyday family life. Each month, children receive real mail that introduces them to a new destination through a postcard, fun facts, a recipe or activity, a coloring page, and a postcard of their own to share.
Why physical mail matters
Mail addressed to a child feels entirely their own. Seeing their name on a bright red envelope turns an ordinary trip to the mailbox into a moment they look forward to, and it opens up a screen-free afternoon the whole family can share.
The story behind the traveling pen pal
The traveling pen pal is an imaginative story character created by Pen Pal Travels, not a real child or individual traveler. We keep the character unseen so children can picture the storyteller for themselves and wonder where the story will go next. Every subscriber receives the same featured destination and story each month.
